high-yield and high-quality conventional cotton variety.
Main Characteristics and Traits
Agronomic traits
The growth period is about 121 days. The plant is bucket-shaped and relatively compact,with Type I – Il fruiting branches. The node of the first fruiting branch is 5.7. It has a sturdy stem, dark green foliage, medium-small leaves, low leaf biomass, and dense stem pubescence.Seedlings are robust with early emergence and strong growth vigor.Fruiting branches are upright, providing good ventilation and light penetration. Bolls are oval,
with an average single boll weight of 6.3-6.8g and a saw-gin lint percentage of 45.3%.
Yield traits
Strong boll-setting capacity, with 2-3 extra bolls on middle and lower fruiting branches.In medium-fertility fields, the average boll number per plant is 10-13. It features concentrated boll opening, thin boll shells, smooth flocculation, and good fiber retention.
Fiber Quality Traits
Fiber length 30.4 mm; breaking tenacity 30.7 cN/tex; Micronaire 4.4.
Stress Resistance
Robust emergence with low seedling root diseases under low temperatures;high temperature tolerance with low boll abscission during hot spells;stiff stem with lodging resistance; high resistance to cotton bollworm;
Fusarium wilt resistance and Verticillium wilt tolerance.
Key Cultivation and Management Measures
● Sowing Date: Sow when the 5cm soil temperature remains steadily above 12″C for 3 consecutive days Seding density:210,000- 240,000 plants/hatarvest density: approx.180,0-210,000 plants/ha
● Fertilization: Apply suficient basal fertizer, mainly organic fertlizer Topdres with water -soluble N-P-K compound fertlzer Use light seedling fertlizer, stable bud fertllzer, and heavy flowering & boll-setting fertilizer Increase phosphorus and potassium application after full fowering.Foliar fertilizers include zinc, boron, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate.
Total fertilizer input is determined by target yield and applied in coordination.
● Irrigation: For drip-irrigated cotton fields,drip irrigated is applied once every 7-10 days based on soil moisture conditions, with a water aplication volume of 300-525 m per hectare per irrigation interval shall be shortened during high-temperature periods
● Chemical Regulation: Sensitive to mepiquat chloride(DPC). implement full-season chemical regulation following the principle of early, light and frequent appilcations Adjust dosage according to crop vigor.
● Pest and Disease Control: Focus on prevention and adopt integrated pest and disease management.
● Topping: Follow the principle Time dictartes topping regardless of branch count; sufficient branches dictatetopping regardless of time, Control plant height of machine-harvested cotton at approx 100cm.
● Defoliation:This variety is sensitive to defoliants. For machine-picked cotton, flexibly adjust defoliant timing and rate based on field density,crop vigor,and air temperature.
